Located in Algarve, in Palmares Ocean Living & Golf resort, this Clubhouse always looked for quality, innovation, relation to the site, and preserving its natural surroundings. Therefore, GreenLab worked from the beginning in the development of the project, to provide the most adequate response in terms of sustainability.

This project was considered as a Retail building for BREEAM purposes, and it consists of an underground floor for car parking and technical rooms, as well as a ground floor for the Clubhouse program, which includes a restaurant, a store, and other facilities to support the golf course.The major openings are located on the southeast façade, including the restaurant and the location of the pool. The technical areas (such as the kitchen storage and other facilities) are located on the north/northwest façade where there is not much need of the sun to provide comfort in those areas. It has exterior overhangs to prevent overheating in the summer in the southeast façade, and it was used concrete to potentiate the thermal inertia of the building.

Thus, it is possible to verify several bioclimatic strategies incorporated in the design of the building, to minimise energy consumption and increase thermal comfort.
Regarding BREEAM Certification, it focused mainly on health and well-being issues, as well as minimising waste, preventing pollution, and reducing the use of energy.

This Clubhouse intends to be a reference in this sector, demonstrating that architecture, sustainability, and innovation should always be considered in a project, ideally developed from the beginning in collaboration.
